How are TruJoy Organic Candy Canes different from conventional candy canes?
TruJoy Candy Canes are made with the highest quality natural and organic ingredients. We use natural colors and flavors, and real organic brown rice syrup and sweeteners to create a healthier and better tasting product. We are also one of the only candy canes made without corn syrup.
Why should I be concerned about artificial colors?
A recent study completed by the British medical journal The Lancet, showed that artificial colors and preservatives increased hyperactivity and decreased attention span in a wide range of children with and without learning disabilities. A number of food and candy manufacturers in Europe are now removing artificial colors, flavors and preservatives from their products. In addition, the American Academy of Pediatrics recently issued a position paper which suggested removing artificial colors and preservatives from the diets of children experiencing ADHD behaviors (http://www.feingold.org/aap.html). Artificial colors are primarily coal-tar derivatives made from chemical compounds which are made when coal is distilled.
Are your products gluten-free?
Yes, they are produced on gluten-free equipment. We randomly test each batch down to 5ppm to confirm this.
Are your products produced and/or packaged in a facility with other common allergens?
Our Candy Canes are produced on dedicated nut-free and gluten-free equipment in a segregated are of a facility that also processes dairy, eggs, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, and wheat. The Candy Cane production line is on a dedicated floor and has its own HVAC system.
Are your products Feingold approved?

Are your products Vegetarian or Vegan?
Yes, TruJoy Organic Candy Canes are both Vegetarian and Vegan.
Are your products Kosher (pareve)?
Yes, TruJoy Organic Candy Canes are certified Kosher by the Kashruth Council of Canada.
Are these Tru Sweets Organic Candy Canes?
Yes! After enormous success in 2011, Tru Sweets decided to redesign the packaging but keep the same great ingredients and flavors. The new packaging reflects the winter holiday spirit more accurately and really pops on the shelf.
